Privacy Policy

Her Mom Body ("we," "us") operates The Honest Miles 5K and thehonestmiles.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this site, register for an event, sign up for our newsletter, volunteer, or contact us, and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Race registration: name, email, phone, date of birth, gender (optional), shirt size, team name, and emergency contact name and phone.
• Payment: we use Stripe to process race registration payments. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles that directly, and we only keep a transaction reference and amount. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• Liability waiver: your typed legal name as an electronic signature, the date and IP address it was signed from, and, if you're a minor, your guardian's name and signature.
• The Honest Card: if you choose to write one at registration, that text is stored completely separately from your registration and is never linked to your name, email, or any other identifying information. We can't connect a card back to who wrote it, by design.
• Newsletter: your email and, optionally, first name, plus which form you signed up from. Checking the "keep me posted" box on the registration, homepage, volunteer, or waitlist form subscribes you right away. There's no separate confirmation email to click.
• Volunteering: name, email, phone, and the role/shift you're interested in.
• Contact form: whatever you send us: name, email, subject, and message.
• Weekly run RSVPs: name, optional email, and how many guests you're bringing.

How we use it

• To register you for a race, process your payment, and assign a bib.
• To contact you about the event you registered for: date changes, weather cancellations, packet pickup, etc.
• To reach your emergency contact if we need to during the event.
• To send race updates and future event announcements, only to people who opted in.
• To plan volunteer shifts and staffing.
• To respond to messages sent through the contact form.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers who help us run the event (payment processing, email delivery).

Race results are public

If you finish a timed race, your name, age group, and finish time are posted publicly as part of the results. If you'd rather not have your name shown publicly, contact us before race day and we'll list you by bib number instead.

Minors

Participants under 18 may register with a parent or legal guardian's signature on the waiver. We collect the guardian's name in addition to the participant's information for this purpose.

Cookies

We use minimal session cookies to keep your cart/registration progress working while you're on the site. We do not use third-party ad-tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Registration, payment, and waiver records are kept for as long as needed for insurance, liability, and tax purposes. Newsletter subscribers and volunteers can ask to be removed at any time.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from emails anytime using the link in any newsletter, or by emailing us.
• Ask us what personal information we have on file, or ask us to delete it (waiver/payment records tied to a completed race may need to be kept for legal reasons even after a deletion request).
